Ah, the mocha. One of my favorite things to get at a Starbucks (especially the melted truffle ones).
The problem is, my nearest Starbucks is 45 minutes away each way, so other actions must be pursued. Hence, this mocha. It has an extremely rich chocolate flavor, is just sweet enough, and topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and chocolate sauce (those photos are actually not grainy, that’s the shaved chocolate). The coffee flavor is there but not overpowering. Coffee, frothed milk, cocoa powder, sugar, whipped cream, more chocolate, chocolate syrup. What more could one want out of a drink?

The Recipe: Time: 5 minutes Difficulty: None, you have no excuse. Servings: 1, can easily be multiplied.
6 ounces frothed milk
4 ounces strong hot coffee
1 tablespoon sugar (Horrified? Look up your favorite drink’s sugar load. Actually, don’t)
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a 12 ounce mug, combine all the ingredients (except the whipped cream, syrup, and shavings.).
Top with copious amounts of whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and chocolate shavings.
